A New Vision for Scholarships: 1,200 Nigerian Midwifery Students Receive Support to Finish School

A ceremony on August 13 in Abuja honored 1,200 midwifery students from 54 schools in 30 Nigerian states who are receiving scholarship and bursary awards through a program supported by CapacityPlus. Dr. Alfredo Fort Named Director of Monitoring and Evaluation for CapacityPlus

Dr. Alfredo Fort returns to IntraHealth International as the new director of monitoring and evaluation for CapacityPlus. He will also lead CapacityPlus’s gender team and knowledge management team, which manages the HRH Global Resource Center. Dr. Fort previously worked for IntraHealth as the director of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for the PRIME and PRIME II global projects. Read more »

New Leadership and Strategic Plan to Further Goals of the People that Deliver Initiative

 
Uganda has run out of most antiretroviral drugs, HIV testing kits, drugs to treat opportunistic infections, and several crucial diagnostic tools for HIV care, according to a recent Ministry of Health stock status report. The People that Deliver (PtD) Initiative hopes to change this dire situation in Uganda and prevent it from happening in other countries by scaling up human resources involved in supply chain management.  Read more »

Ensuring Access to HIV Medications and Supplies in the Dominican Republic: Results from a CapacityPlus Workshop

According to UNAIDS, an estimated 1.63 million people are living with HIV in Latin America and the Caribbean, where there is high treatment coverage and availability of antiretroviral therapy (ART). As donor support for securing HIV commodities in the region is declining, countries are planning for how they will continue to ensure access to ART and HIV supplies in the future.  Read more »
