Dr. Alfredo Fort Named Director of Monitoring and Evaluation for CapacityPlus

Dr. Alfredo Fort returns to IntraHealth International as the new director of monitoring and evaluation for CapacityPlus. He will also lead CapacityPlus’s gender team and knowledge management team, which manages the HRH Global Resource Center. Dr. Fort previously worked for IntraHealth as the director of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for the PRIME and PRIME II global projects.

“Health workforce is still a relatively young field from a monitoring and evaluation point of view. We look forward to Alfredo helping lead the global health workforce M&E community and measure progress toward universal health coverage,” said Dr. Kate Tulenko, director of CapacityPlus and senior director for health systems innovation at IntraHealth.

Originally fromDr. Alfredo Fort Peru, Dr. Fort began his career as a community health physician and initially worked in the public and private sectors in periurban and rural areas of the country. He now has more than 30 years of experience in primary and reproductive health care as well as program M&E and applied research.

”I am glad to be back in such a great workplace as IntraHealth and assisting CapacityPlus with its end-of-project results, while positioning ourselves competitively for future HRH work,” said Dr. Fort. 

Dr. Fort was most recently a scientist in charge of the Americas at the Department of Reproductive Health and Research at the World Health Organization in Geneva. He also worked as a senior health adviser for the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) project in Calverton, Maryland.
